Join volunteers from the Methow Valley Forest Fire Lookout Association for a weekend of fire lookout painting and maintenance at North Twentymile in preparation for the centennial celebration. Dates will be determined later in April along with a sign up form with more information.

The Methow Valley Forest Fire Lookout Association (MVFFLA) is hosting a work weekend this Spring in coordination with the Methow Valley Trails Collaborative (MVTC). The work party will be on April 29th and 30th on the lower portion of the trail accessing the North Twentymile fire lookout. The fire lookout is celebrating its centennial this year and the goal of the weekend is to restore an eroded section of trail, making it easier to access the lookout via horseback. Both work days will involve a moderately strenuous 4-mile round-trip hike. MVTC will provide all the necessary tools, training, and safety equipment for successful tread repair and trail brushing. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring food and water for the day.
