The Methow Valley Forest Fire Lookout Association (MVFFLA) is hosting a work weekend this Spring in coordination with the Methow Valley Trails Collaborative (MVTC). The work party will be on May 6th and 7th on the lower portion of the trail accessing the North Twentymile fire lookout. The fire lookout is celebrating its centennial this year and the goal of the weekend is to restore an eroded section of trail, making it easier to access the lookout via horseback. Both work days will involve a moderately strenuous 4-mile round-trip hike. MVTC will provide all the necessary tools, training, and safety equipment for successful tread repair and trail brushing. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring food and water for the day.
